Sports Time
A song about our personal responsibility to take care of ourselves
When I wake up in the morning
I look forward to each day
After all my school work’s done
I love to run and play
I love to play lots of games
I love my sports, too
When I’m getting my exercise
There’s nothing I’d rather do
I have a little tune
That gets stuck in my brain
It goes round and round
Like a choo-choo train
Chorus
Is it sports
time, Mom
Is it sports time, Dad
Can I go out and play
Is it sports time, Dad
Is it sports time, Mom
Do I have my game today
I practice on my own
Each skill, each move, each play
So when I’m with the team
I’ll do my best that day
I eat only healthy foods
I drink water all day long
I get plenty of sleep
I want my body to be strong
I can hear that little tune
That gets stuck in my brain
It goes round and round
Like a choo-choo train
Chorus
Spoken
I’m just a little kid
I love to compete
When I look in the mirror
I see an athlete
I’ve saved up my energy
And rested all my muscles
I’m ready to run and run
And hustle, hustle, hustle
Whether I win or lose
I always feel fine
I never, ever give up
And I hustle all the time
Sing with me that little tune
That gets stuck in my brain
It goes round and round
Like a choo-choo train
Chorus (twice)
