BURPS

A song about respect for others

Burps are a natural phenomenon
Our tummies hurt when we need to do one
It’s hard to keep a good burp down
Sooner or later they head uptown

Some burps are short and some are long
Some burps are quiet and others are strong
After a soda burps can fizz up my nose
Other burps feel like I’ll explode

You can hear them
But they’re out of sight

Got pepperoni pizza, tastes just fine
Talking to a friend eating soup with a slurp
You start talking and out pops a burp

Since we all burp and we always will
Use good manners when burps go uphill
Keep them quiet, hold your lips tightly
And if a burp slips out, say “Excuse Me”
